Class Descriptions for 2010
EDIBLE PLANT FEAST &HERB WALK- April 10th
Saturday 10am-2pm
The annual favorite...join me for a long tasty walk around Herb
Haven..we will ID the many Edible Medicinal plants available to
us this early spring. The focus of the day will be on preparation,
methods of collection and medicinal benefits and application.
We will share a large herbal feast so bring your interest, appetite
and enthusiasm...all will be satisfied.
COST: $55.00 (includes, hand-outs and a delicious large feast)
PREPARING MEDICINAL OILS & SALVES- May 15th
Saturday 10am-2pm
This hands on class is another favorite. We will focus our time
together on the plant identification, application and
preparation of medicinal oils. Together we will prepare oils for
massage, wound healing, lymphatic drainage, bases for skin
lotions and to finish the day off we will prepare a salve and
luxurious skin lotion from our oils.
COST: $70.00 (includes hand-outs and all supplies)
PLANT MEDITATION- June 26th Saturday 10am-2pm
This is an extended version of the evening Plant Meditation I
offered during the year. We will be working with live plants in
and around the garden using out "6" senses to enter the world
of medicinal plants and open to the many messages they offer
us while in a meditative state. This allows us to open up to and
understand the many subtle gifts they offer us for healing on
many levels. A very empowering experience.
$45.00 (includes hand-outs and an amazing experience)
HERB WALKS- I will be offering this workshop on a monthly
basis so that you can follow the growth patterns and seasonal
appearances of the many medicinal and edible plants that grow
so abundantly here in the Piedmont. Many of these classes will
be held at different locations either here at Herb Haven or at
other farms located in Orange or Durham county. Locations to
be announced.
All herb walks will focus on ID, application, methods of
collection and usage.
May 8th- Saturday 10am-2pm
June 12th- Saturday 10am-2pm
July 10th- Saturday 10am-2pm
August 14th- Saturday 10am-2pm
COST: for each herb walks is $35.00 (includes hand-outs)
